Components and Triggering Events
1789 - In May of 1789 King Louis XVI summoned the estates general without aim to solve the monarchy's financial crisis.
1791 - The royal family tried to flee France. They quietly left Paris for Austria, but were recognized and forced to go back after making it only a few miles over the border.
1792 - The french government found itself in a very difficult situation. The Austrian army and Prussian allies had started advancing into the French territory
1792 - France and the king declared war with Austria
1793 - One man in particular, Maximilian Robespierre came to dominate the committee and established himself as the leader of the so-called reign of terror. He was wanting to get rid of all the revolutions enemies.
